Mario Batali and Gwyneth Paltrow in the Kitchen Together

by

Gwyneth PaltrowIron Chef Mario Batali is known for his excellent Italian cooking. He makes dishes you might not always be able to pronounce, but that are certainly good enough to eat. So, when you hear his name attached to any cooking show it certainly is no big surprise. A name you might be surprised of hearing being attached to a cooking show is Gwyneth Paltrow. However, this fall Paltrow will be taking Batali on a road trip to Spain where they will be filming a cooking show together.

The show will pay homage to a country where Paltrow spent many magical childhood summers. It will also give her a chance to offer America a look at Spanish cooking. The two will be going through Spain, cooking, and sampling local favorites.

The show was originally Batali’s and he asked good friend Paltrow to join him. He didn’t think that she was serious, but her love of Spain and the food made it an easy decision for her. She says she is willing to eat all of the crazy things they offer such as eels, but will be foregoing the jamon because Paltrow does not eat beef or pork products.

The show, which films in October and November of this year, will be released on PBS (Public Broadcasting Systems) channels.

I’ve been watching Mario for years. I really love how he makes each regional dish he prepares, exciting and interesting because of the history he provides; he’s one of the only people that goes into such detail. He’s awesome, not to mention the variety of foods he prepares, he’s so talented.

One thing, however, I am STUNNED by is the fact that an individual of such stature, talent, fame and wealth, allows himself and is allowed (under contract) to get so disgustingly obese.

What’s the message Mario? Eat, cook and perform until you drop? Sorry, buddy but you lost my vote by my remote. The minute I see you on the tube, even with Gwyneth Paltrow, I vote by remote and switch channels. I just can’t (pardon the pun) stomach you.

MARIO This is no small stage you’re on, especially with children now, suffering from overeating. Emeril Lagassse is another “star” whose lack of control should be commented on.

You’re both quite disgusting. I find no culture or art in what you’ve both developed into over time. Get a grip fellas and quit grossing out the public!

  6. Hector Says:

I DITTO that! When humans begin to look swollen, it’s time to switch the channel and I sure do.

If our country were poor and one is able to distinguish himself by his big fat gut then MAYBE I could understand it but this AINT one of those countries now, is it?

This is the land of idols and icons and the minute your face goes on TV, you’re got a responsibility to your public to keep the right image, part of that being HEALTHY!

Hell even Oprah is apologizing for pigging out. Why? Because she KNOWS she’s wrong by leading an unhealthy lifestyle and displaying her big butt week after week BUT that’s only been over this past year.

Batali and Lagasse have been porking out for years now and they look like they’re about to burst.

I think it’s a crying shame that there isn’t more public outcry about overweight food celebrities with the pandemic running through this country.

Thank you Mister and Hector for voicing first what’s been on my mind since I watched “Spain… on the Road Again” these last 2 weeks on PBS. It’s DISGUSTING seeing such gluttonous propensity masquerading as “high culture.” Mario Batali is absolutely disgraceful and should never be paid to speak of food again unless it’s about balance and self-control. The same go for Mark Bittman & Gwyneth Paltrow who have lost my respect altogether for being associated with such a show. And no amount of gorgeous scenery from Spain’s sun-dappled vineyards and rolling green hills can properly cover up the undercooked script and vapid conversations that went on in this boring food series.
